Deloraine Football Club President Anthony Clayton has set his priorities: growing player numbers, improving training and playing standards, and bringing the broader community closer to the Club.
“I’d love to encourage more of our old guard to return to the Club,” he says. “That would create a fantastic mix of our young, up-and-coming players and committee members with the experience of past generations.”
Letter to the Editor
With the move to Premier League competition, the President is under no illusions about the challenge ahead. But the goal is clear — this is about building a pathway for the next generation.
“It’s not a one-year plan,” he explains. “This is for every kid who’s keen on Auskick or plays juniors. A strong, viable football club gives young people a reason to stay in town and keeps the community connected.”
