Pocket Park

If you passed through the main street of Deloraine during the Craft Fair, you can’t have missed seeing at least some of the amazing lineup of entertainment at the Deloraine Pocket Park. We had three days of words, music, drama and art.

Letter to the Editor

Kath Wilmot had a pop-up gallery all weekend, there was Children’s Story Time each morning, and readings from local writers and poets. We had music and singing, drumming, improv theatre, hula-hooping, the works! The park was packed Friday night for the Hallowe’en Party, with live music from Crystal Codex and lollies and prizes for the best costumes, and Saturday evening we had photos from the Craft Fair projected onto the walls.

An enormous thank you to all those who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the weekend possible.

Don’t forget the Pocket Park is there for the community – please feel free to come along and busk, or book the space for an event of your own – it’s free to book the park, but there is a fee of $10 if you need to connect to the power.

Keep an eye on the Bulletin Board at the Park for events coming up over summer, and into the new year! Next year there’ll be more great events at the Pocket Park, including music during the Vintage Car Show, and Youth Week events.

WOAD

WOAD – Windows on Art Deloraine – was a huge success this year, with 25 artists providing artworks to display in shop windows all along the main street of Deloraine. Huge thank you to Fritz Robinson, Kath Willmot, and Chris Willmot for being the amazing organising committee this year, as well as all the artists and businesses that took part and made this such a great success!

Meander Valley Art Awards

Well done to everyone who entered the Meander Valley Art Awards! In the end there were 81 entries in the Meander Valley Art Awards this year, an absolutely incredible collection of art of all styles and mediums, exhibited for two weeks either side of the Craft Fair Weekend. Coming up in 2026

Our TSO screenings are finished for the year, but will be back next year for Sunday afternoon entertainment over the cooler months!

We will also have Artist Talks returning, with a great line up of artists joining us to talk about their art and creative processes.

If you’ve enjoyed anything Arts Deloraine has organised, and you’d like to assist us in supporting local artists, don’t forget any donations to Arts Deloraine are now tax deductible, and you can find out more on our ‘About Us’ page on our website: www.artsdeloraine.com.au.
