Todd Streets has swiftly established himself as a prominent real estate agent in Northern Tasmania, leveraging his passion and dedication to overcome the challenges typically associated with a young career in the industry. With a base at Key2 Property’s office in Deloraine, Todd leads a tight-knit team that includes seasoned professionals like Anne Crowden, who boasts over two decades of experience in property management, and Nick Hosking, whose expertise in backend operations ensures smooth transactions and efficient handling of paperwork.

From the outset, Todd faced skepticism about his youth. Reflecting on his early days, he shares, “Getting an 18-year-old to sell your home is a really big thing. A lot of people said, ‘Oh, you’re going to be too young. People aren’t going to trust you; you haven’t got the experience.’” Determined to prove his capabilities, Todd focused on building trust and demonstrating his commitment to his clients. His authenticity and hardworking nature quickly dispelled doubts, allowing him to earn the confidence of both buyers and sellers in the community.

    Letter to the Editor

Todd emphasises the importance of trust in real estate transactions. He explains, “If you can’t get your buyer’s trust, you’re no good to your vendor at the same time.” This delicate balance is crucial, as Todd navigates the fine line between representing the vendor’s interests while also respecting and understanding the buyer’s needs. He acknowledges the complexities that arise when buyers pose challenging questions, noting, “Some buyers want to ask questions that you can’t really give them an easy answer to, and they might think that you’re playing the hard card or you’re just holding things back from them, but there is a fine line there.” Todd’s ability to handle such situations with transparency and integrity has been instrumental in his success.

Todd and the Key2 team cover a broad range of areas across Northern Tasmania, including Launceston and West Tamar. This extensive coverage allows them to understand and adapt to the diverse markets within the region. Despite the market slowing compared to the booming years of 2021 and 2022, Todd remains optimistic. He attributes his continued success to accurate pricing and effective marketing strategies. “Properties always sell, even in a quiet market. The key is being price reflective and upfront with clients,” he asserts.

Todd also offers valuable advice to both buyers and sellers. For sellers, he highlights the importance of honesty and setting realistic expectations regarding property pricing. For buyers, he recommends being clear about their needs and securing pre-approval for financing to streamline the purchasing process. “If you can come to us and let us know what you want, we then obviously take your inquiry a whole lot more seriously,” Todd explains. He stresses that transparency and open communication are essential for a smooth transaction, fostering a positive experience for all parties involved.

Over the years, Todd has witnessed significant changes in the real estate landscape, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought about a period of uncertainty and reduced market activity. However, his resilience and adaptability enabled him to navigate these challenges effectively. Today, Todd prides himself on maintaining a balance between personal connections and professional expertise, ensuring that each client receives dedicated and personalised service.

Looking ahead, Todd envisions continued growth for Deloraine and the surrounding areas. He believes that effective marketing, especially through modern platforms like realestate.com.au, will play a pivotal role in promoting the suburb and attracting more buyers. “Deloraine has a lot of growth. Marketing the suburb better is important,” he notes. Todd is committed to expanding the Key2 Property agency while maintaining the high standards of service that have become synonymous with his name.

In his personal time, Todd enjoys the vibrant community life in Deloraine and appreciates the historical charm of nearby Westbury. Whether it’s the lively streets of Deloraine filled with friendly faces or the character-rich properties of Westbury, Todd finds joy in the unique offerings of each area.

Todd Streets’ journey is a testament to how passion and integrity can propel a young professional to success in a competitive industry. His ability to connect with clients, adapt to changes, and lead a dedicated team ensures that he remains a key player in the Meander Valley’s real estate scene.
