The Chudleigh Show, a beloved annual event showcasing the best of rural life and agriculture, is set to return on 15 February 2025, bringing with it a full day of entertainment, competitions, and community spirit.

This year’s show is expected to draw record crowds, offering a diverse program that highlights Tasmania’s rich agricultural heritage and vibrant local culture.

A Showcase of Agriculture and Tradition

The State Final of the Young Judges Grain Competition will be a major draw, providing young people aged 15 to 25 an opportunity to test their visual judging and public speaking skills. The Prime Lamb Competition will also take centre stage, with local farmers vying for top honours.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the region’s farming traditions with beef and dairy displays, offering an insight into two of Tasmania’s most vital industries. For those with an appreciation for history, the vintage machinery exhibit will provide a glimpse into the ingenuity of the past.

Exciting Events and Family Fun

For equestrian enthusiasts, the show jumping competition will display impressive horsemanship, while the dog high jump promises thrills for canine lovers. Meanwhile, families can enjoy the always-popular pet parade, a heartwarming showcase of the community’s cherished animal companions.

A highlight of the event will be the Chudleigh Royal Shears Sports Shear Competition, where Tasmania’s top shearers will demonstrate their skill and speed. Additionally, the home industries exhibit will showcase the talents of local artisans and crafters, featuring handmade goods and unique creations.

Children will be treated to free entertainment throughout the day, ensuring a fun-filled experience for families.

Food, Community, and Hospitality

The Chudleigh Show is not just about competition—it is also a time for locals and visitors to come together and celebrate. A variety of food vans will be on-site, offering delicious fare that reflects the region’s culinary diversity.

Show President Laura Richardson encourages everyone to attend and experience the warm hospitality of the Chudleigh community.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to come together, enjoy rural traditions, and celebrate the best of what our region has to offer,” Richardson said.
