Deloraine has officially entered the 2025 Top Tourism Town competition—and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share the spotlight with this remarkable part of Meander Valley. With its vibrant arts community, breathtaking natural surroundings, and a true sense of Tasmanian spirit, Deloraine is a worthy contender for this prestigious recognition.

This year’s entry has been proudly coordinated by the Great Western Tiers Tourism Association (GWTTA). It represents not just Deloraine’s charm, but also the commitment of our local community to putting Meander Valley on the tourism map.

Letter to the Editor

Special thanks must go to our Vice Chairperson, Lucy from Love Lucy Boots, and our Secretary, Renee Hardwicke, who led the charge and dedicated countless hours to pulling together the submission. Their attention to detail and passion for the town are the reason Deloraine is now in the running for this statewide accolade.

Deloraine is a town that truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re wandering the banks of the Meander River, exploring the Yarns Artwork in Silk, stepping back in time at the Deloraine and Districts Folk Museum, or discovering local artisans and eateries, the town is brimming with experiences that reflect Tasmania’s cultural and natural beauty.

The surrounding areas add even more to the appeal—Liffey Falls, Alum Cliffs, and the wilds of Mole Creek Caves offer breathtaking scenery and outdoor adventure. Add in charming townships like Chudleigh, Westbury, and Exton, each with their own hidden gems, and it’s easy to see why this region is fast becoming a must-visit destination.

Now it’s time for the community and visitors alike to show their support. The People’s Choice category is open, and every vote counts. Help Deloraine take home the title by voting here.

The GWTTA isn’t stopping here. This year’s entry is just the beginning. We’re already looking ahead to future opportunities to showcase other towns across the Meander Valley in coming years. Each one has its own story, character, and potential to shine on the tourism stage.

This entry is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of our people, our places, and the pride we take in our home. Congratulations again to everyone involved, and let’s all get behind Deloraine!

Vote now and help us bring the title home!
