The Westbury Show, Tasmania’s third-oldest agricultural show, will take place on Saturday, 8 November 2025.

2025 sees some exciting new exhibitors. Truck- and digger-loving kids, both big and little, will have a ball watching miniature, remote-control versions. If cute and cuddly is more in order, then come and see a cavy competition. Cavies, also known as guinea pigs, haven’t featured at the show for some time, so we are excited to see them en masse again!

Letter to the Editor

Australia’s favourite cattle dog, Bluey, had so much fun at the Westbury Show last year that she’s coming back with her friends this year. Last year’s shearing and wool handling competition was so popular that it will be back again this year.

The Westbury Show is renowned for its pet lamb competition. Every year, the competition’s popularity continues to increase, and we anticipate receiving another record number of entries. All lambs must be tagged before entering the showgrounds.

The Westbury Show has always been proud to offer families great value for money with activities in our free Kids’ Corner. “The past few years have been tough on many families, and a day out that won’t break the bank is even more important. Bring the kids and enjoy our free Kids’ Corner activities like face painting, laser tag and pony rides,” says Stacey Tweedale, media manager of the Westbury Show.

Show favourites like the Hagley Rural Youth Dog Jump, wood chopping, sheep shearing, horse, kennel, and cattle competitions, as well as Matthew Johnston’s Yard Dog Trials, the animal nursery, and home industries displays, will be back.

We’ll once again have an array of food choices from around the world, and Anne Dargan’s famous chocolate cake will be on offer at the kennel kiosk.

A horse extravaganza, Westbury Show will host three days of competitions from 7 to 9 November, with show jumping taking centre stage in front of the grandstand. Tickets can be purchased at the gates. Gate fees are as follows: adults, $15; families, $30; children (6-16), $5; and children under 6 are free. Gates are open at 9am.
